The Mini Mini
By Fireball Tim
Movie Car Design Master
Car lovers are all the same. They love their rides and do whatever they can to make ‘em slick. Case in point, my Canadian buddy Jeff. Every now and then, Jeff can be seen driving through LA in this HUGE vehicular contraption. A mini Mini. (Although, it looks like he should be wearing a helmet!)
So, if you see him, tell him that I said he should give you a ride. Although, in this car… a ride is about 12 feet.

Nice Work Hyundai
By Rob Einaudi

A few days ago Porsche rightly snubbed Mini after Mini challenged them to a race. Well, now Hyundai has jumped into the mix and has challenged Mini to a race. This I want to see.

Plus, we’ll be on hand to hang, do some signings and build cars with all who show up for the festivities.
I’ll be there Thursday (26th) and Friday (27th). Come by and hang with us, build your own Ridemakerz RC Car and check out all the cool cars inside!

Fireball Spots a Teeny Meeny
By Fireball Tim
Movie Car Design Master
So, there I was, riding my bike down PCH with my squeeze when I spotted this Mini. Well actually, not a Mini, but a MiniMini. I mean teeny.
This dood cut, chopped and sniped. (I’m sure scissors were involved.) And since I’ve never seen a smaller Mini than this, it’s officially “THE SMALLEST MINI EVER.” (Now, don’t go all hog wild and tell me “NO! THERE’S A SMALLER ONE!” Unless, you send me a photo.)
But, for now. It’s Fireball’s Official ‘TeenieMeenie.”

Mini Beachcomber Concept
Atomicalex
The Mini Urban Beach is open for tanning. With no roof, no back, and no sides, it looks like a modern sand rail, Mini-style. High contrast neoprene seats, sports graphics, and a lot of fussy detail combine into a cute concept with about zero chance of production. Whatever. I like the “roof” detail at the back.

December Castrol GTX Winner!
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
Congrats to Mike, the the latest winner of our “Castrol GTX How Do You Keep Your Car So Clean?” contest! Here’s what he had to say about his ride:
The stresses and loads on oil in a classic Mini is second to none due to the engine and gearbox sharing the same oil. Through the long racing/rallying heritage of the Mini, Castrol GTX has always been the life-blood to these pocket rockets. All of my Minis run Castrol GTX. Granted this Mini, named Minissan, has a nitrous injected 3.0 liter V6 from a Nissan 300ZX, but quality is quality. I’m breaking the engine in with GTX and then going to the Edge. Minissan took over 4,000 hours to build, so taking care of it inside and out has become a passion in itself. While we completed the build for under $8,000, money is no object when it comes to taking care of it. We’ve learned by trial and error what waxes, polishes, and cleaners to use to make it stand out and last. But after using Castrol GTX for the past 30 years the choice for oil was obvious, Castrol. Thanks for all of the years of quality and performance! To truly appreciate Minissan you need to see the rusty shell we started with and how a V6 looks right at home under the hood!
Well said, Mike! Congrats to all the great winners we had in 2009! Stay tuned, because there are more great contests coming for 2010!
