Project American Heroes Chevelle to be Auctioned at Barrett-Jackson Orange County

For a third year Super Chevy Magazine has enlisted Route 66 Motorsports, a custom auto restoration shop out of Chicago, and have teamed up with the Armed Forces Foundation (AFF) to build the third Project American Heroes car, a fully restored and highly modified 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle.

Super Chevy’s Project American Heroes brings this timeless classic to the auction block to raise money for AFF programs nationwide. This year’s car will be auctioned at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Orange County, CA, the first at this location, on June 26th. Jim Wangers, the Legendary “Ad Man” Behind the GTO in the 60s, is Selling his Prized Pontiac Collection

Jim Wangers, the man most closely associated with the advertising and promotion of Pontiac during its glory days of the 60s and 70s, and the man affectionately termed the “Godfather of the GTO” has decided to “thin the herd.” Wangers is offering his prized collection of Pontiac’s for sale. 2010 America’s Most Beautiful Roadster

Car builders from around the world gather once a year in Pomona, CA at the Grand National Roadster Show and compete for the coveted “America’s Most Beautiful Roadster” Award (AMBR). This year’s competitors included Rick Dore, who built an amazing 1936 Auburn for Metallica’s James Hetfield and a gorgeous ’32 roadster from Chip Foose. However, this year’s AMBR award goes to a hand-built roadster from Scott’s Hot Rods ‘N Customs. Check out the 2010 AMBR winner.

Hurst Mustang Pace Car to be auctioned at Barrett-Jackson… You Know, For Kids

If you’re heading out to Scottsdale, AZ for the Barrett-Jackson auction this week with a pocket full of cash and want to do the right thing, then check out the Hurst Mustang. BFGoodrich and Hurst will be auctioning off a 2010 Hurst Mustang Pace Car convertible with 100% of the proceeds benefiting Victory Junction Camp, a year-round facility that serves children with chronic medical conditions and serious illness. Classic Recreations and Shelby Announce GT500CR

Classic Recreations has announced plans for the G.T.500CR, a 1967 Shelby continuation vehicle. All three G.T.500CR models will feature a hand-built 427 cubic inch (7.0L) engine, model specific bodywork, custom paint and hand-stitched upholstery. Every car will have an official Shelby serial number, badges and will be included in the official Shelby Worldwide Registry. If you made it to this year’s SEMA show, then you know there was no shortage of 2010 Chevy Camaros on display. From mild to wild, tuners have embraced the reborn muscle car with great passion. One Camaro in particular caught my attention with its design, performance and build quality. It was no surprise to find out this was the latest creation from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering.
