A Bunny Hop? On a Sport Bike?
Speed is one of my favorite channels, and I love watching the riders on Superbikes pull off ridiculous stunts. Now, I’ve watched lots of that show, so I really didn’t think I’d see anything terribly surprising in this preview clip—but I was wrong. Right at the beginning, some dude laying on the ground gets bunny hopped by a guy on a sportbike! What? Could someone please tell me how you do that?

More Big Scooter Madness
By Ben Schaffer
Bulletproof Automotive
Last time I posted I said that I wasnt sure if I thought these were cool or not. Since then Ive been starting to dig them. Still very odd, but maybe that’s why I like them. It takes equal parts balls and stupidity to actually show up somewhere riding one of these things. More pics after the jump (and you cant tell me the exhaust in the second to last pic isn’t badass).

SoundDomain Sound-Off for 04.10.08
By Sean
Editor
- MTX wanted to stretch their legs a bit in the marketing department and sponsored an MMA fighting group (mixed martial arts) last year. Well, the team continues to kick ass and take names, and fighter CB "Doberman" Dollaway has been invited to participate in the Ultimate Fighter Championship reality TV program on SpikeTV. Check out the details– this guy is a brute!
- Automotive journalist and editor Rich Truesdell gave CarDomain readers the low down on the new Jag XF’s driving experience, but Rich is also an audio connesuier, and gave SoundDomain his thoughts on the amazing B&W sound system. Read his mind!
- View Gate just introduced these new handlebar mounted speakers for motorcycles and motorbikes. If thats’ not the most annoying accessory you can possibly at to a motorcycle, I don’t know what is. Check out the stupid idea here.
- I remember when I first saw my first Ground Zero subwoofer. It was about 10 years ago and I was blown away. They were one of the first companies to introduce the idea of the monster subwoofer- big-ass surrounds, HUGE magnets, and beefy baskets, all capable of handling gobs of power. They kind of disappeared after a few years, but I just found out they are alive and kicking over in Europe… Still big, still beefy, still bad-ass as ever.

Florida Police Dump Harleys for Hondas
By John Coyle
Editor
Here’s a story that’s sure to get some people upset. The police department in Lake Mary, Florida has decided to replace their fleet of Harley patrol bikes with new Hondas. The reason? Money. Over the course of a typical year, the Harleys cost almost $3000per biketo maintain, compared with the Honda’s $520 dollars, and get far worse gas mileage30MPG to the Honda’s 42MPG. While I have to admit I like the idea of cops riding American iron, a $3000 bill seems pretty steep for a modern motorcycle. And given that the Honda is lighter, faster and more agile, this decision seems like a no-brainer. Read more over on the local ABC affiliate site.

Sweet Stunt Session!
By John Coyle
Editor
This clip came in over the weekend, and I thought it was pretty dope. It kind of reminds me of the skate videos my friends and I would shoot, because even though it’s not polished, and not every trick comes out perfect, it’s still fun to watch. Check out the super-long stoppies the dude on the dirt bike keeps pulling!

Five People Dead at Daytona Bike Week
By John
Editor
Bike Week in Daytona kicked off on Friday, and five people have already been killed. Two died when the bike they were riding was hit by a truck, another guy missed a turn and died on impact, and a elderly woman was killed when she stepped in front of a pair of riders. While the other unlucky bikers were from out of state, Amedeo Revellini was actually from Daytona, but he still managed to enter a highway against traffic and collide with two other motorcycles. Yikes. Tampa Bay Online doesn’t mention how many of the dead were wearing helmets, but they aren’t required in Florida, and from my experience not many people in the Sunshine State wear them. Given that eight people died over the course of the ten day event last year, it seems like Bike Week is off to a pretty grim start. Hopefully the rest of the event proceeds without any more fatalities.
Tomahawk Prototypes to be Sold!
By John

Once, when I was trying to explain how fast my Suzuki TL1000R was, one of my buddies quipped, "Oh, the big engine with wheels? It’s fast huh? Imagine that." Well, if there was ever a vehicle which deserves to be called a big engine with wheels, it’s the Dodge Tomahawk concept. This monster is packing a Viper V10! Yikes! Of course, this baby had a snowball’s chance in hell of ever seeing production, but if you have deep enough pockets, actually owning one isn’t a complete impossibility, as Chrysler is going to sell the remaining concepts through Neiman Marcus. Starting price is a cool half million, but for this masterpiece, that number almost seems reasonable. Maybe it’ll have a cameo in the live-action version of Akira?

Street Fighter Kit for Hayabusa
By John
Editor
Right out of the box, Suzuki’s Hayabusa is a monster, and it’s been the world’s fastest production bike since it debuted back in 1999. Current models weigh 485lbs and come stock with a whopping 194 horsepower, which basically means that twisting the throttle is likely to send unprepared riders into cardiac arrest. But as blindingly quick as this baby is, there have always been complaints about its swoopy, bloated bodywork. For those unmoved by the stock ‘Busa’s lines, BFO Motorcycles in the UK has offered a solution, and wow, does it look mean. Check out how the kit compares to the original styling after the jump. What do you think about this treatment? Hot or not? BFO Motorcycles via Motorcycle News

New Ducati 1098R: So Awesome it Hurts
By John
Editor
Suzuki’s GXR1000 and Yamaha’s R1 are incredible machines, and both pack more power than virtually anyone can handlebut there’s nothing like a Ducati. The company is calling the new 1098R the "most advanced, most powerful twin-cylinder motorcycle ever built," and they aren’t joking. With a weight of 364lbs and 180 horsepower engine, the bike is mind-numbingly powerful, but it’s the laundry list of MotoGP partseight-stage traction control, digital dash, independent ride height adjustment mechanismwhich really make it sing. This baby was born to win races, and if Ducati’s recent success in Qatar is any indication, it’s going to deliver in a big way. Get all the details over at Gizmag.

Michael Schumacher in MotoGP?
By John
Editor
While it’s still a long-shot, it’s not a complete impossibility. Back in November, the seven-time F1 champ took MotoGP champ Casey Stoner’s factory Ducati around Spain’s Valencia course at a pretty good clipa mere five seconds off the lap recordwhich had onlookers amazed. At the time that he said he had no plans to race, but his longtime manager recently refused to dismiss the idea, saying "anything is possible." While 38 seems a little old to start a motorcycle racing career, if he decided to join the MotoGP fray, Schumacher would surely be a formidable opponent. What do you think? Should he get on a bike?
