A Ducati MotoGP Bike? On Ice?
By John
Editor
Even with the burly spiked tires, around a corner, a decent speed skater could probably hand this 200MPH MotoGP bike its ass. But the ability to ride one of these monsters on clean, dry pavement is something even an extremely experienced biker wouldn’t take lightly. So watching this maniac take a race-prepped Duc onto an ice rink is beyond impressive. Wow. Thanks Bikes in the Fast Lane!

DiCaprio to Produce Live-Action Akira!
By John
Editor
Along with Star Blazers and Speed Racer, Akira introduced anime to American audiences, and catapulted gritty Japanese cartoons into the mainstream. Set in post-apocalyptic New Tokyo, the plot revolves around a teen motorcycle gang leader forced to deal with the results of a government human experimentation project. But the stars of the flick are the hyper-trick bikes gang members ride. The replica below was built by a fanwill the filmmakers do as good a job? With DiCaprio signed on to produce, there won’t be any shortage of cash to render the wicked cityscapes and incredible chase scenes which made the original so exhilarating. Hopefully, the live-action version doesn’t become a CGI mess, as the trailer for Speed Racer seems to indicate that interpretation will be. Seriously guys, Akira has already been a cartoon! Melbourne Motor Show Preview
By Ron
aka WayTooFurious
To be perfectly honest, I gave up on going to the Melbourne International Motor Show a few years ago. It had become boring and was filled with cars that you could see at most dealerships. However, that has all changed this year and there are three very good reasons why I will be going. Ray Bauman will be showing off his Monster Bike. The Bolwell Nagari is making a comeback, and David Walters E-Vade is making its debut! Walter, an engineer with the Australian Navy, developed the E-Vade with his wifes encouragement. According to Just Cars Magazine, he built the car for himself and if we end up making and selling more of them, then thats something extra. Looking over the E-Vade’s specs, I wouldn’t be surprised if Walter got a few orders. It has been designed as a car that’ll be at home on both the road and the race track. It features a mild-steel frame chassis and a fiberglass body and, powered by a twin-turbocharged Nissan V6, the E-Vade pumps out a quite respectable 500kw (670 hp!) in the track-tuned version. There’s also a more sedate 300kw (400hp) version available for cars used primarily for road driving. The feature I like the most is the built-in hydraulic jacking system, which gives the car enough clearance for quick tyre changes.

Funny Crash Comp
By John

I haven’t posted a crash comp in a while, and as a huge Beach Boys fan, the soundtrack of this one made it irresistible. Oh, and the part where the chick somehow manages to run herself over with a motorbike was pretty awesome too.

One Big Bike!
By John
Editor
Now, when I think about big bikes, I think about Hayabusas, Gixxer 1000s or Harley Fat Boys. I most definitely don’t think about anything like the BIGTOE. Wow. This monster is powered by a Jaguar V12, weighs 3600lbs, stands almost eight feet high, and sports a pair of training wheels. Top speed is just over 60 miles an hour, but I think this bad boy is plenty scary standing still. Get more info over at Gadget Venue.
