Latest Speed Racer Trailer

A new trailer for Speed Racer surfaced yesterday, involving a bunch more of the colorful CGI silliness that the movie is quickly becoming known for. There’s a whole lot of barrel-rolling and even a cool sequence featuring the Mach 5′s self-regenerating tires. Woo! Check it out the hi-res version at Yahoo.

Boom! Car Goes Out in a Big Way!

There wasn’t much information on the circumstances surrounding this car’s gigantic explosion, other than it occurred in London over the weekend, and that it was being filmed for an unnamed movie. But even without any context, this clip is still pretty impressive. What the hell was this car filled with anyway? Napalm? And what exactly are the filmmakers trying to simulate, a nuclear detonation?

Tiny Drive-In For A Cramped City

Living in a city where most normal people can’t afford to own and store a car, wouldn’t you long for a trip to the drive-in? Now car-starved Manhattanites can have their cake and eat it too—at the world’s smallest drive-in theater. The DRV-IN is a one-car stall is inhabited by a projection screen, a simulated star-filled night sky, and a 1965 Falcoln convertible, seating six. Movie-goers can book the car and their choice of films for seventy-five bucks per screening. Unless you really do plan to pack the Falcon with six people, that could be an expensive date—but in a town where a parking spot for your car can cost as much as most other cities’ two-bedroom apartments, it must seem like a bargain.
