Pond Scum: Our New Best Friend?

Generally, algae is considered a pesky, ugly problembut interest in bio-fuels has scientists working to turn this slimy green negative into a big fat positive. While corn has long been associated with alternative fuels, researchers are saying properly farmed algae might be able to produce 750 times as much fuel per acre. Wreck Saves Man's Life!

Yup, you read that headline correctly. New Jersey painter Brian Rocco swung through a Burger King drive through to pick up some lunch, but while driving along, he started choking on an onion ring. After trying unsuccessfully to dislodge it, he lost consciousness, which caused him to hit a tree and flip his van. Luckily, either the impact or the airbag freed the spiteful snack, and he escaped with minor injuries. Check out the video on MSNBC.
