Milner Motors Flying Car in New York
By John Coyle
Editor
As someone who absolutely loves the idea of flying cars, I really, truly, want to like Milner Motors. But after looking at stats and photos of the company’s vehicles online, I was left pretty cold. Given my experience with my Dad’s ’66 Piper Cherokee, I find the idea that something could be light enough to fly and provide even basic protection from other vehicles pretty far-fetched, so I’m not impressed with the idea of an airplane which folds up its wings for the road. And from an aesthetic standpoint, I think the ElectriCar is just ugly. I stumbled across Milner’s booth yesterday, in a dark, unloved corner of the Javits Center, and after seeing their products in person, I’m even less enthused. The AirCar is a lot bigger than I expected it to be, which makes it look even more awkward, and there’s no way I’d take it on the street. Just imagine getting t-boned. Yikes. More photos after the jump.
Saleen Raptor Concept Unveil
By John Coyle
Editor
There weren’t a ton of unveils in New York, and most of the ones I was excited about happened on Wednesday. But I was curious to see what Saleen was hiding over in their booth, so Mike Musto and I went to their press conference yesterday. After a splashy intro complete with fancy lighting and smoke, the Raptor Concept made its debut. Mike thinks it looks like the product of one-night-stand between a Gallardo and an F430, and I don’t disagree. But I still think it looks dope, and with 650 horsepower and 603lbs of torque on tap, it would be blast to drive. The brass hasn’t decided whether to bring it into production yet, and will closely follow the response of its customers and the press. When I asked Marques McCammon, General Manager of Saleen Automotive, how long will it take for the company to pull the trigger, he said it "will depend on how loud everyone screams." If the response is deafening, the Raptor could be in production in two years. What do you think? Should Saleen build it? More pics after the jump.

Suzuki Concept Kizashi 3!
By John Coyle
Editor
In the motorcycle world, Suzuki is a force to be reckoned with, but until recently, its cars weren’t taken very seriously. Currently, the company is attempting to redefine its place in the automotive hierarchy. The Concept Kizashi 3 unveiled in New York today features striking lines, an all-wheel drive system, a 300 Horsepower engine and some trick paddle shifters. The coolest part? Suzuki is going to build this puppy! While the model below isn’t production sheet metal, this is by far the most conservative of the Kizashi family, so changes should be relatively minor. Will we see a sea-change in America’s perception of Suzuki cars in the near future? Time will tell. More pics after the jump.
Scion in New York
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Scion always has great displays, and their New York spread is no exception. And I was glad to see that they had already rolled out the Hako concept front and center this morning. Two more pics after the jump.
Oh, and I see there is a lot of hate on the Hako concept. I agree that the windshield is a bit absurd, but it is a pretty cool little car.

Window Frames on a Subaru?
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Somehow I had missed the fact that the new Impreza has window frames. So does the new Forester. That’s the one thing that’s always irritated me about Subarus. So now they fixed it. But I wonder what made them switch? Is Subaru trying to be normal or something?
BMW CS Coupe Concept Unveil in New York
By John Coyle
Editor
There isn’t a four-door sedan on the road right nowsorry Jagthat’s as sexy as Maserati’s Quatroporte. But if BMW actually brings this CS Concept to market, Maser is won’t be king of the hill anymore. While it’s irritating the company is calling it a "four-door coupe"coupes have four doors!the CS Concept looks incredibly sleek, and its presence in showrooms would probably send most of their competitors back to the drawing board. Just check out how awesome it looks when the cover comes off! Come on BMW, bring back the 8-Series and make this your flagship!
2009 Nissan Maxima Unveiled
By Mike Musto
AKA Mr. Angry
The 2009 Nissan Maxima is finally here, and ya’ know what? It’s a really nice car. Styling is what you’d come to expect from Nissan for the Maxima–sporty but conservative. The new car has a sportier exterior than the outgoing model, and you can actually see traces of GTR in the front head lamps. The interior of the car has been thoroughly upgraded as well, with a beautiful leather-wrapped steering wheel and traces of carbon fiber on the console. Gauge layout is also what you’d come to expect from Nissan–big analog dials cleanly placed without any blockage from the steering wheel. To further the "sport" in the 4-door sports car, Nissan has included paddle shifters, which will be a fun addition to the package.
Ford is Kickin' Ass and Takin' Names!
By Mike Musto
AKA Mr. Angry
So, here we are at the New York International Auto Show and I can say that right from the get go the manufacturers have gone hog wild with their exhibits. Seriously, they’ve pulled out all the stops for this one. Ford is here in full force with some pretty hairy stuff. The Shelby 500KR is a wicked little bastard of a Mustang, as is the new Bullitt.
One thing that is apparent right from the beginning and something that I am thoroughly impressed with is Ford’s overwhelming committment to safety. Their F-150 Lariat cutaway was especially impressive, from the funky safety features like the Gyroscopic Rate Sensor that helps control body roll and yaw, to new B-pillars that are made of ultra-high-strength Barron steel. Two more pics after the jump.
Project IS-F by Five Axis
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I guess I missed this Five Axis IS-F at SEMA, but photos of this car do not do it justice. Mike Musto was really digging the wheel color and is thinking he might use it on his current project. More pics after the jump, including the spec sheet–six inch wide body kit by Five Axis, 20 inch Five: AD wheels, big Brembo brakes, etc. And of course I have a walkaround video.

Sneak Peak at Batman's Lambo
By John Coyle
Editor
Batman Begins was one of my favorite movies of 2005, and I’m super pumped about the Dark Knight. Just look how awesome Heath Ledgerrest in peacelooks as the Joker! While no actual photos of Batman’s new Lambo have surfaced yet, the toy has been released, and it seems pretty sick. The car appears to be a wildly modded Murcielago, and should look awesome on the big screen. Check out the video below for more info.
