The Find: Nismo R34 GT-R Z-Tune For Sale!
By Ben Schaffer
The Real JDM
I just returned from my most recent trip to Japan. During these trips I’m often lucky enough to find some really cool stuff because of my network of friends out there in the industry. Usually its new parts and inside news, but this time it was something far different… I was shocked to find a friend of mine who asked for my assistance in selling a very VERY rare BNR34 GT-R Z-Tune by Nismo. This is an authentic Nismo produced car (only 19 were ever made). The car (as expected) is an extremely special collectors car which is unlikely to ever depreciate in value due to the historical significance and legendary status amongst GT-R enthusiasts (plus only 19 exist and no more will ever be produced). Not to mention is runs like a monster on crack for those lucky enough to take it to the streets or circuit. Continue reading at the Real JDM.

Driving the 370Z Roadster and NISMO 370Z in Northern California
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Last week Ryan and I got the chance to drive the new 370Z Roadster back to back with the NISMO 370Z in Northern California. And I’m not talking about a quick test drive around the block. I’m talking about several hundred miles on the twisty backroads near Santa Cruz. We flew down to San Jose, signed a waiver and the Nissan folks tossed us the keys, along with a suggested route which included a catered lunch and a place to swap cars. Is this a cool job or what?

Nismo: Renting Tuning Parts!?
By Ben Schaffer
The Real JDM
In Japan, Nismo just announced an aftermarket ECU upgrade for the R35 GT-R. The ECU offers increased performance and an increased top speed while being fully authorized by Nissan to retain the factory waranty.
Where it gets interesting is that Nismo will not sell the ECU, they only rent it! To customers in Japan, they would pay Nismo approx $3000 USD to rent the ECU for 2 years after which point they need to return it to Nismo.
I’m sure Nissan has something to do with this madness of renting tuning parts with no option to own. I just find the topic really interesting and absurd! Found at our friend Kris’s blog

NYIAS: Nissan 370Z
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
Nissan didn’t make it to Detroit, so this is the first time I’ve seen the 370Z in person. Honestly, it looks great. They brought this silver Nismo Z, a pretty blue 370Z, and the new convertible. More pics after the jump!

Nismo Festival Wrap Up
By Mike Garrett
Speedhunters.com
Right now might be the off-season as far as most automotive activity goes, but here in Japan things couldn’t be busier. Tomorrow I’ll be heading out to Yokohama to have a look at the much-anticipated Mooneyes Hot Rod and Custom Car Show, and right after that it’ll be time to prepare for Wednesday’s big Rev Speed time attack at Tsukuba Circuit. Before we move on to the stuff though, I have a few more photos I wanted to share from last weekend’s Nismo Festival. Continue reading at Speedhunters.com

Nismo Fairlady Z S-Tune
By Mike Garrett
Speedhunters.com
The new Z34 only debuted a few weeks ago, but tuned versions are already starting to come out. Established companies like ZELE and MCR have tuned Z34′s in the works, and Nismo just debuted their S-Tune packages for the JDM Fairlady Z. There will be two packages offered, the S-Tune Aero, and the S-Tune Performance. As the name suggests, the S-tune aero package is limited to exterior parts and includes the aero kit seen in the photo below. Continue reading at Speedhunters.com

2007 Nissan NISMO 350Z: More Than The Sum Of Its Parts
Over a year ago, in the inexorable ramp-up to the introduction of the Nissan GT-R super car, the NISMO 350Z was introduced at the 2007 New York International Automobile Show. In a way, it’s almost as if it got lost in the shuffle, and with an as-delivered price of $39,615, it flew under most enthusiasts’ radar. So what’s it like?
Well, after eight days, two intense road trips to the California Desert, and almost 2,000 miles, I have a very clear idea. After all that seat time, I discovered an athletic performance car—unheralded in many ways—that’s capable of showing its tail pipes to a host of far better-known and more-expensive competitors.

Nismo Motorsports Wheels for R35
By Ben Schaffer
Bulletproof Automotive
At least I think these are the wheels that Nismo will offer. Whatever they end up on (Vspec, Nismo Aftermarket or whatever), am I the only one who thinks they are really disappointing visually? I know that’s blasphemy and all to say that about a Nismo product, but seriously, how many of you can look at them and tell me they are not ugly.
Maybe the looks will grow on me in time, but I don’t think so. There is some chance that they have a center cover for the lugs that changes the design and makes it look like something entirely different–that’s the only hope I have for this design.
Sometimes I say things and look back and feel really stupid for saying them. I might feel that way about this post if these rims end up growing on me. But for now, I gotta call it like I see it. Two more pics after the jump.
