Mustang Garage

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

I really liked this display Ford set up for the 2010 Mustang in New York. Not sure what I think of the new brown interior in the red car, though! Tons more pics for Mustang fans after the jump!

They had one of these amazing supercars at NYIAS. It was kind of hard to photograph, but I figured you guys would want me to post the pics anyway. More after the jump!

This bad boy was over in the Mitsubishi booth at NYIAS. Featuring carbon fiber body panels and a 3.0 liter V6 turbo-diesel, this Lancer Sportback was designed to be a serious contender in the Dakar Rally. More pics after the jump!

What's Next: Mopar Introduces New 3.6 Liter V6

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Jim Press mentioned this new motor briefly during the introduction of the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee at NYIAS, but I didn’t see any details on it til now. The current 3.5 V6 is ancient, and is finally being replaced by this all aluminum DOHC V6, which produces 33% more power and 11% more torque while delivering 11% better fuel economy. It can run on E85 if necessary, and will contribute to a 2 mpg increase in Chrysler’s overall CAFE by 2015. And if the deal goes through with Fiat, it could even end up in some Alfas. Crazy, huh?

Red 6-Speed Camaro SS in Manhattan

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Driving a new red Camaro makes you a total rock star. People were stopping in their tracks, yelling at us, whistling, swerving their cars and trucks over toward us, giving us the thumbs up and generally acting like total idiots around this car. We literally could not go one block in Manhattan or Brooklyn without making some kind of scene.

We drove an SS with an automatic yesterday and I have to say I much prefer the 6 speed manual. The exhaust note seems louder and deeper and the car just seems to have more umph (and it does–422 hp vs. 400 hp on the automatic SS). But, I don’t like the clutch at all. Maybe our particular test car has been beat quite a bit (there was already a fair amount of rubber on the rear fenders from burn outs, and one of the wheels had some nasty curb rash) but the clutch just felt, well, weird. Kind of springy with a really awkward, non-linear engagement. Definitely took some getting used.

NYIAS: Hyundai Nuvis

By Jim Brennan

UDMan

Hyundai has introduced two of the most talked about new cars this year: the Genesis Sedan, and the hot new Genesis Coupe. They are also responsible for a huge marketing coup, the Hyundai Assurance Plan, that has helped grow the brand, while almost everyone else shrank. Within this volatile market, Hyundai has given us a glimpse into their future, with the Nuvis. Continue reading after the jump.

NYIAS: Ford Transit Connect

By Mike Musto

RideLust.com

A legend in Europe for decades, the Ford Transit van is just now making its way over to the States. I was pretty stoked to check this thing out and for good reason: I need a new van. When first viewing it there are a couple of things that you’ll notice immediately. For one, it’s very tall and narrow. And it appears to be based on an automotive platform as opposed to a truck platform. NYIAS: the Counter Balance

By Jim Brennan

UDMan

Wandering around on the floor of the New York International Auto Show, I came across this curious truck thingy hiding in the back of the lower level at the Javitts Center. It was tall, yellow, and crudely put together. So of course, I had to know more about it. And so, here is the background on this, um, unique vehicle called the Counter Balance. NYIAS: the Fisker Karma

By Jim Brennan

UDMan

While this isn’t a new debut here at the New York International Auto Show, I thought it was worth taking a look at the models they are currently offering. Fisker claims that these cars will run 100 MPG, and they already have more than 1,000 orders, with a starting price of around $89,000. They may not achieve 100MPG, but they do look very good in person, with a uniquely styled interior and exquisite paint. More pics after the jump.
