By Jim Brennan

Today Hyundai introduced a pair of Sonata Sedans, and with Toyota’s troubles, could this be the car that surpasses the Camry?

NYIAS: Now for your viewing pleasure, a 1957 Military Chevy 150 Sedan!

By Jim Brennan

UDMan

Just caught this car on the show floor–it’s a 1957 Chevrolet 150 Sedan, made up to look like an Army Military Police Vehicle. This car is equipped with a six cylinder engine and a three-speed manual. It looks great, so of course I wanted you to see it.

NYIAS: The Volvo S60–A New Design for a Change in Ownership

By Jim Brennan

UDMan

As you may or may not know, the Volvo Brand has been sold to the Chinese Automaker Geely, and the new Volvo S60 has the distinction of being introduced right after the sale was announced. I have always liked the design direction Volvo has taken after the introduction of the S80 sedan in 1999, with sleeker rooflines, and a broad shoulder stance that has been a dramatic departure from the Volvo “Box” paradigm only a few years earlier, and it has been well received. Well, the S60 takes it up a notch, with sweeping curves, and a modern interior. The question is this: Will the core Volvo buyer accept the fact that their favorite brand is now owned by a Chinese car company? And will the S60 compete with a growing number of premimum mid-sized sports sedans including the Infiniti G, the Lexus IS, or even the BMW 3-series? Check out more photos after the jump, and discuss your thoughts below.

NYIAS: The Acura TSX Wagon–A European Honda Accord With a New Badge.

By Jim Brennan

UDMan

A new wagon was introduced at the New York Show, and I wondered why it took so long to get here. You see, the European Honda Accord is really a re-badged Acura TSX here in the States, and a wagon has been available on the Continent for a few years. When it hits our shores, the TSX Wagon will only be available with the 2.4L DOHC four cylinder, and a five-speed automatic. Will this be enough to sway potential buyers back into a wagon instead of a crossover? I’m not so sure, because it’s missing two things that appeal to the core Acura buyer; a V-6 engine, and a proper manual transmission. They were so close… What do you think?

NYIAS: The Chevy Cruz, Revealed

By Jim Brennan

UDMan

One of the most anticipated small car introductions has to be the Chevrolet Cruz. It’s set to debut this fall, replacing the hoary old Cobalt. There will be several versions available including the base LS, and LT, and an LTZ. The sporty end of the spectrum will be covered by the RS version, available with a different front fascia, well-integrated rear spoiler, large-diameter wheels, and different rocker panels. The look is actually quite nice!

NYIAS: Furious Fuchsia

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

We got to see the Plum Crazy Challenger in Detroit and now Dodge has rolled out a Furious Fuchsia Challenger for New York. I was curious to see this color in person and thought it looked pretty sharp. Which color do you like better? More pics after the jump!

NYIAS: the New Scion tC

By Jim Brennan

UDMan

There was some excitement in the Scion booth, as the new tC was introduced. It’s rather hard to remember when the tC was first introduced in the States, and it’s one of the more successful Scion products, so when coming out with a replacement, Toyota was a little conservative, with basically the same styling, an increase in horsepower, larger tires and brakes, and a new six speed automatic along with a six seed stick.

NYIAS: The New Chevrolet Caprice Cop Car–Why Can’t We Get a Civilian Version?

By Jim Brennan

UDMan

Well, here is the new Chevrolet Caprice police and pursuit vehicle. It’s rear wheel drive, has a 6.0L V-8, and it’s not available to the general public. This is so sad, as it would make a radical muscle car. It would definitely make an Obscure Muscle Car!

NYIAS: The Nissan Juke–A Jaunty Little SUV!

By Jim Brennan

UDMan

Today, the Nissan Juke made its debut at the New York International Auto Show. Though this is a right-hand drive show that isn’t yet ready for the North American market, Nissan representatives promise it will be here soon. With a lot of similar offerings already in the showrooms, I have to wonder where this one will fit into Nissan’s lineup. Any thoughts?
