This Just In: New on the Net

Yesterday, I flew home from visiting Hankook Tire’s production facilities in Korea. I had an awesome time over in the ROK, but right now I’m so jet lagged I can barely think. I feel like I could sleep for a week. Anyway, here’s the news:
- Cars blasting burly bass can be heard coming from blocks away, and now some emergency vehicles are using subs to augment their sirens. Sounds like a good idea to me. Wired
- Look, we’ve all gotten pissed off about parking. But if you find yourself reaching for a machete—like some wacko in Germany recently did—it’s probably time to take a deep breath and chill out. Fortunately, nobody got killed. Reuters
- Given how America’s economy is completely in the toilet, you wouldn’t expect that new car sales would be up—and they aren’t. September sales were the worst in 15 years. Ouch. Freep
- Aston Martin has brought its new One-77 to the Paris Motor Show, but apparently, that doesn’t mean the supercar is ready for its close-up. While a section of the front clip is visible, most of the car is still under its cover. Come on Aston, take it off! Auto Express
GTbyCITROËN Beams Down From Outer Space
By Rob Einaudi

That’s not a typo in the headline–GTbyCITROËN is all smashed together and capitalized, just to be extra super duper awesome. This joint venture between Citroën and the makers of Gran Turismo is blowing everyone’s minds in Paris. The car was created for the 5th game in the Playstation series, and apparently visitors to the Paris Motor Show can drive the car in a simulator at the Citroën stand. No word on whether or not this space age vehicle will ever fully make it to the real world. More pics after the jump, and you can see even more pics and read the press release over at Jalopnik.

Nissan NuVu Concept
By Rob Einaudi

Here’s the most hilarious concept I’ve seen come out of the Paris Motor Show so far. It has 2+1 seating and an electric drivetrain. I don’t know, I think it’s kind of cool. What do you think? Two more pics after the jump, and you can see the rest of the photos and read the full press release at Jalopnik.
