By Jen Dunnaway

Wow, our friends across the pond get some seriously badass funeral coaches. This one was spotted on a hauler near Modena. No word on where it was headed or whose lucky stiff it was slated to haul. Via Carscoop.

Video of 2009 Maserati Quattroporte
By John Coyle

In my opinion, Maser’s four-door is already the best looking sedan on the road—sorry Jag—so the engineers didn’t make any major changes for the 2009 model. After all, why mess with perfection? And while I know that the Italian Stallion will definitely best Porsche’s forthcoming Panamera in the looks department, I can’t wait to see how the two machines compare on the track. If I had to bet now, I think I’d have to call it for the German, but that’s just a gut feeling. In a head-to-head match-up, which do you think would win? via World Car Fans

Hater Fodder: Even Worse Than The Chrome Ferrari 599
By Ben Schaffer
Bulletproof Automotive
Thanks to our reader Hamzah from Saudi Arabia for sending me these photos. Hamzah, much like myself, immediately recognized the tragedy that is the "Burberry Maserati Quattroporte." I’d classify this as food for the haters AKA Hater Fodder. Feast on this (says Dirk Diggler). More pics after the jump.

BMW CS Coupe Concept Unveil in New York
By John Coyle
Editor
There isn’t a four-door sedan on the road right nowsorry Jagthat’s as sexy as Maserati’s Quatroporte. But if BMW actually brings this CS Concept to market, Maser is won’t be king of the hill anymore. While it’s irritating the company is calling it a "four-door coupe"coupes have four doors!the CS Concept looks incredibly sleek, and its presence in showrooms would probably send most of their competitors back to the drawing board. Just check out how awesome it looks when the cover comes off! Come on BMW, bring back the 8-Series and make this your flagship!

This Just In: New on the Net
By John

I haven’t worked a full week in over a month, and the grind is already started to wear on me. Well, at least I got a flat on the way in to the office. Here’s the news:
- Want to get your hands on a GTR before it officially hits your shores? Good luck. Nissan is threatening gray market entrepreneurs with legal action: Auto Express
- Hot Wheels is planning a cross country blitz to celebrate its 40th anniversary. You can’t blame themcan any other company claim to have sold four billion cars? Auto Week
- This year, F1 cars will be hitting the grid without traction control, and some drivers are predicting more accidents: BBC News
- Upon release, Aston Martin’s new Rapide sedan will be going head-to-head against Maser’s sexy Quattroporte and Porsche’s dreadful Panamera. How will it do? From the looks of these pics, jolly well indeed: Car Scoop
- So just who is legitimate media anyway? That’s the question the brass at NAIAS are asking. Here’s a tip: if you write a blog about beer and cheese, it’s not you: Detroit News

Panamera or Quattroporte: Which Would You Choose?
By Rob
Editor-in-Chief
Sure, we all dig sports cars, but sometimes you gotta be practical. Porsche’s new Panamera is gonna be the hot ticket for the 911 owner who needs a bit more space. And of course the Quattroporte has been undisputed the king of sporty four doors for a while now, and a new version should be out soon. Both cars will be priced comfortably north of $100k when they hit dealer lots next year. So, which would you choose? The family hauler from Stuttgart? Or the Italian grocery getter?

Spied: Maserati Quattroporte refresh
By Andrew
Left Lane News
Spy photographers have captured images of an updated Maserati Quattroporte. Coming on the heels of the recently introduced GranTurismo, the Quattroporte’s face lift should incorporate some of the coupe’s design cues, but could be more significant than first thought due to the prototype’s heavy masking. Updates are expected to include a revised grille, bumper and headlights. The rear bumper could also receive a slight update. It remains unclear if Maserati will also update the Quattroporte’s interior, but it is believed that the car’s engine will receive direct-injection for better fuel economy, as well as a few extra horsepower.
