383 V8-Powered Isuzu Amigo on Racing Junk
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
Who would of ever thought that a lowly Isuzu Amigo could ever be considered awesome sleeper hotness? We didn’t see this one coming, but once we laid our eyes on it, we fell instantly in love. The sick bastard that decided to bolt a 450hp 383ci stroker into this little cute ‘ute should either be given an award or a straight jacket. We want to buy him beers.
From the photos shown on an ad at RacingJunk.com, the only initial judgement we have is on the exahust system which looks to be hanging really low and kind of awkward. We’re thinking that’s because an off the shelf header was used (not that there is one for this swap, but something that fit was shoehorned in) so a trip to the header shop would probably result in a cleaner job, and more sneaky approach to suprise unwitting victims.
One of the more interesting things mentioned in the ad is the fact that the body has been lowered three inches and “braced” to handle the massive power infusion.
Don’t get us wrong, the outside of the truck is still hideous. The graphics and half convertible top are enough to turn our stomach, but in our world, horsepower cures all evils. Just for a second imagine how awesome it would be to blow off “fast” stuff left and right with this thing.
We want it, bad!

Racing Junk Find: High Dollar, High Quality, 1953 Dodge Meadowbrook Wagon
By Brian Lohnes
BangShift.com
When we first saw this cool old Dodge wagon for sale on RacingJunk.com we gave it a cursory look and almost moved onto the next ad. We thought we were looking at an interesting body wrapping up a ho-hum street rod drivetrain, boy were we wrong. This two door wagon is not just a looker, it should flat haul ass too.
The two door wagon body is extremely rare as only 4,251 were produced in 1953 and seeing as these were frumpy family station wagons that would have had little to no appeal after they aged, we think that lots of them hit the scrapyard. One thing we know for certain is that this one is a genuine tire shredder packing 478 cubic inches of dual quad equipped Hemi!
There are not dyno numbers provided with the ad, but this thing would be a blast to drive (so long as the carbs are tuned properly and not loading up like crazy). The car was obviously built be a professional as it sits on a nice Art Morrison custom 2×4 frame that is equipped with air suspension. A 9-inch Ford rear packing 3.55 gears resides out back and is fed by a Mopar 727 trans. If an 8 3/4 rear or Dana 60 had been used the Russian judge would have scored the owner a “10″ for proper drivetrain parts usage.
Frankly, the interior is too nice for us. It fits the rest of the car and appears to be of execptional quality, but we’re grubby idiots who would sit down with a wrench in our pocket and punch a hole in the leather seat.
Talk about a bitchin’ family cruiser and occasional strip blazer! We want this one bad!
