Brilliant Advertainment: The Dodge Ram Challenge
By Evan
NWSilverado
While there have been many plugs for the new Dodge Ram pickup, nothing beats this campaign that Dodge is running at its site, clips of which you might’ve seen on TV. Head over to ramchallenge.com to check out this actually pretty clever reality-TV themed video series for yourself. The site is currently running the first episode in a series of four, which will show the new Ram competing in a variety of challenges from payload to offroad. And while it’s hard to gauge from only the first episode, what they’ve got so far is about seven minutes of absolutely decent advertainment. Watch!

Amoco Ultimate Favorite: Dodge Ram Rockcrawler
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Even though Amoco is giving away a ton of prizes, there’s so many awesome entries in the Your Car Is Worth It Contest that we can’t possibly shower them all with free BP gas cards and trips to the races. So we thought we’d highlight some of our faves in the blog. I totally dig this awesome home-built rockcrawler. Here’s what the owner says about it:
This is the first truck I ever purchased with my own hard earned money. I bought the truck bone stock in 2002, with almost 100,000 miles on the odometer, because that was all I could afford at the time. Every dollar I have put into it since then I have worked my butt off for, and now I can play just as hard with the truck to show for it!!! This truck truly is my pride and joy! I do all of my own work and get a real sense of accomplishment by building a winner, not buying one!!
There are still more chances to win, so if you haven’t already thrown your hat into the ring, make sure to enter the Amoco Ultimate Your Car Is Worth It Photo Contest!

Grant's '56 Ram
By Rob Einaudi

Grant found this old truck fifty miles from his home in New Zealand. I like the pic below before it got paint, and before he mounted the cab on a Holden chassis so he could build it into a low rider. But click through to his ride page to see it what it looks like now.

Trucks of Death Race: Dodge Ram 1500
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
At least one of you commenters was curious about the Death Race Dodge Ram, so here’s the goods on it. It’s a 2004 1500 and will be driven by the character Machine Gun Joe (2 Fast 2 Furious veteran Tyrese Gibson). While the 5.7L hemi and 5-speed automatic are stock, the drivetrain has endured some pretty drastic mods: the truck was converted back to 2wd, a 1-ton dually rear axle was swapped in, and it’s running 16-inch dually wheels in the rear and 20′s up front. The suspension’s also had some tweaking, including Rancho 9000 shocks and Firestone airbags all around. This is a truck that’s bound to deliver some thrills when the movie hits the theaters in August.

Ram vs. Silverado: Too Close To Call!
By Rob
Editor-in-Chief
I just went through all the comments and the Ram vs. Silverado match-up is definitely too close to call. This is the second tie we’ve had in the Showroom Showdown (not counting the Aveo vs. Rio battle). So what’s CarDomain’s favorite full size truck? We can’t say for sure. Maybe we should put the F150 up against the Silverado. If the Silverado beats the F150 then we’d still have a tie on our hands, but if the F150 beat the Silverado, we’d have to give the overall win to Dodge (Dodge beat the F150 in a prior match). Hmmm, let me ponder this a bit. In the meantime, I think we need to get back to cars. What do you guys want to see in the next Showroom Showdown?

Welcome to the final round of our full size truck Showroom Showdown. The Ram beat the F150 and killed the Titan. And the Silverado defeated the Tundra. So what’s the favorite full sized truck on CarDomain? Let’s find out. Which would you choose, the Dodge or the Chevy?

Ram Beats the Titan on CarDomain
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
The Ram dominates Showroom Showdown. It beat the F-150 a few months back and then this week it delivered a smackdown to the Titan. Hmmm, maybe I should pit the Silverado vs. the Tundra, and then have the winner of that match up go up against the Ram. What do you think? Who would be the king of full sized trucks on CarDomain?
600K Rides Contest: Thursday's Winners
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
Our staff had called Friday as the day we’d most likely hit 600,000 rides on CarDomain. But our awesome members beat us to the punch, and as a result we reached our latest landmark in the middle of today instead! Still, as promised, we’re going to be giving away a swag pack each day for the best new ride page and best updated ride page as though the countdown were still happening, because we sure wouldn’t want you to miss out on your swag. Congrats to Dawn on her newly updated Prelude, "Lucy Lude": having had her car stolen and stripped, Dawn’s had to show more than the usual persistence to keep it looking as nice as it does, and I think the slogan she runs on her multiple ride pages says it all: "If you don’t run your fingers over my car, I won’t run my car over your fingers." Nice, I think that’s going to have to be my new bumper sticker! As with updated rides, there were so many fantastic new rides that it was almost impossible to choose one—but I think it’s going to have to go to new member Dan for his absolutely badass Dodge Ram van. With its plaid captain’s chairs and floor-to-ceiling carpeting, how could you not want to welcome this ride and its owner into our community?

Monstrously Huge Truck
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
This 2004 Ram was on eBay last month. It didn’t meet the reserve. In fact, no one even bid on it (perhaps people were daunted by the fact that the starting bid was set at $50k). But it’s pretty hilarious so I thought you guys would like it. So how tall do you think this woman is? It’s hard to tell. More pics after the jump.
