Redline Kicks Off The 2010 Time Attack Season
By John Naderi
StreetFire.net
After Japan’s famed Tsukuba circuit no track is more widely recognized for time attacks than Buttonwillow Raceway Park, located in bucolic Buttonwillow, a mere hop, skip and a two-hour drive north of LA. Buttonwillow’s 2.6-mile CW #13 configuration seemed the perfect venue for the Redline Time Attack to launch its 2010 series. While Redline does not normally attract some of the big time J-pop rockin’ JDM machines as the rival Super Lap Battle this year’s season opener saw plenty of records fall. Hit the jump to see more images as well as some of the record-breaking times.

Totally Techno Time Attack!
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
OK, so I’m totally happy with my life, my job, my house and everything else. But to be perfectly honest? Sometimes I get jealous of Nads, getting to run around and see everything that’s happening in the world of motorsport. It looks like he had a blast at the last round of the Redline Time Attack. Watch the video, and let us know whether you like the editing!

Even Crazier in Person: Chris Rado's Time Attack Scion!
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
OK, I have to admit that most of the time, I think front wheel drive performance cars are kind of stupid. Seriously, why? But right after I started at CarDomain, I interviewed FWD evangelist Chris Rado, and when I asked him the big question—um, why?— he explained that working with FWD is more of an engineering challenge, and I totally respect that. When I spoke with him, he was focusing on FWD drags, but now he’s turned his attention to Redline’s Time Attack, and he’s putting down very respectable times in this crazy looking, twin wing Scion. Apparently, this baby is putting down around 1000 horsepower, and I was pumped to see it in person. Watch this walk-around video, and check out a couple more photos after the jump.

Time Attack!
By Rob Krider
Racerboy
Sure, we all know that you would probably be racing in F1 already if there wasn’t that small complication about you not having a racing license. Guess what? Your endless excuses are now null and void. Time Attack is a venue where a regular guy (or gal) can go out and race on the big tracks. That’s right, no parking lot racing here. These events are held on real race tracks that you’ve been reading about in magazines and playing on Gran Turismo for years.
Time Attack is a timed racing event where you take your car onto the track, do your best impression of Aryton Senna on a qualifying lap, and try to put down a blisteringly fast time. Your best lap time is compared to that of people in your class (similar cars, similar mods). The one with the fastest lap time picks up a trophy and never ending glory.
Time Attack is something YOU can do in your own ride. To learn where, cost, car preparation, adrenaline factor and how to actually win a Time Attack read the rest at Speed Sport Life.

Ghettolicious: The FXMD Time Attack NSX – So Wrong it’s Right Again
By John Naderi
StreetFire.net
See this car? It’s a piece of shit. It flies in the face of conventional motorsports wisdom and it’s an insult to the development and direction of the time attack ethos. And you know what, I freakin’ love it! The FX Motorsports Development crew and their NSX are so wrong they’re right again. Much like the GST Impreza RS this NSX is ghettolicious in the finest sense of the term. When I say this to the team’s driver and co-owner, Billy Johnson he gets a little miffed. But team principle Ken “Nami” Namimatsu is rockin’ my Kool Aid with some ice and a straw if you know what I’m saying. Hit the jump to figure out exactly what I’m saying (I’m not even entirely sure) and to see our StreetFire.net video feature on this NSX.

This Evo X Punches Time in the Face
By John Naderi
StreetFire.net
The AMS Performance Evo is the ass kicker of you. It literally has only three actual events under its belt in its current guise. And somehow the AMS crew has been able to coax big numbers from the new 4B11 despite the lack of a G, a 6, or a 3 in the engine designation. Not only is the car stupid fast but AMS has plans in place for more power and even better aero with the aid of a flat bottom floor that has yet to be installed. If you would like to continue reading just click on the “continue reading” link for more, including a muy bonito StreetFire.net video.

Redline Attacks Time in Nashville
By John Naderi
StreetFire.net
Are you from Tennessee? We rolled into to Nashville to check out round four of the Redline Time Attack. The stage was set for a big battle between two very different Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions: the Evo 8 of Sierra Sierra Enterprises and the AMS Performance Evo X. We’ll bring you a full video on StreetFire.net later on the week and I’ll have a more complete blog entry with more stories from the weekend. Until then here is a quick rundown. Mark Daddio reigned supreme in the AMS Evo X with a scorching 1:01.296 good for U AWD gold and the overall. Hit the jump to see how Sierra Sierra ran as well as Christian Rado and his Fwing’d Scion tC.
