After ramming a Fiat Punto she’d barely avoided colliding with just moments earlier, Serena Sutton-Smith kept her foot to the floor until her tires disintegrated and her engine caught fire. Now, most people would probably stop at that point—or never get anywhere near that point to begin with—but Sutton-Smith apparently meant business. A week ago, Rob published a blog about a little quiz which allegedly reveals how prone to road rage you are. But according to William Szlemko, a psychologist at the Colorado State University, you can learn everything you need to know about someone’s temperament on the road just by looking at their vehicle. After questioning hundreds of volunteers, Szlemko found that people who had "customized" their cars with seat covers, bumper stickers—the message didn’t matter—and even dashboard trinkets were more likely to be territorial while driving, and thus more prone to road rage. As silly as it sounds, I think the idea makes sense, and next time I see a car like the one below on the road, I’ll give it an even wider berth than usual. What do you think?
