Fond Memories Are Made of This

By Ron Honig

I was having a drive in the Plymouth today when I had to stop and take a look at this classic Ford.  Besides needing a paint job it looked like a nice solid car. It really put a smile on my face, as some of my fondest childhood memories are associated with a Ford XP similar to this one that belonged to my father. In particular, I can remember one night when we drove into town. I could not have been more than four or five years old and I thought that it was fantastic that we were driving around at night. I stood behind the driver’s seat for the entire trip talking my fathers ear off. The model that my father owned was a Falcon Futura. We kept it for years and eventually it became mine til I sold it about nine years ago. It’s still a decision I regret. So do you have any fond childhood car memories?
