What Did You Do This Weekend?

By Ryan Porter

IN-N-OUT Editor

The Seattle algae was building up on the van so I had to hit it with the pressure washer.  After pressure washing it I couldn’t resist hitting it with the foam canon for its second batch in a year and a half. I’d love to go at it with the clay bar but that would be a little too much work.  As for the pressure washing, I’d say that I lost a solid 10+ square inches of paint off the rear doors where the paint is chipping.

How about you? What did you do this weekend?

Fresh Detail For the Ride

By Ryan Porter

IN-N-OUT Editor

I know it’s the middle of winter and all but when you get a “new to you” car you’ve got to make it yours which includes fixing anything that bugs you, fresh fluids, dents pulled, and some genuine TLC. Well a visit to Gerber Motorsport and to NorthWest Auto Salon and we’re almost there!

Oh and a big thanks to the entire NorthWest Auto Salon crew, you guys make the NW one of the safest places to drive your car year-round.

Rough Sunday With The Porsche

By Ryan Porter

IN-N-OUT Editor

Saturday I installed some HID headlights on the car to improve nighttime visibility.  And while all seemed well after the installation, while I was on my way to dinner last night the driver’s side went out. I pulled over and immediately popped the headlamp out, because I was hoping a connection had just popped out. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case, and  I went on the rest of the night with just one light. When I got home I popped the bonnet to give it another look but decided to go to bed since I was tired and it was real cold in the garage. So that was Saturday night, hit the  jump to see how my Sunday turned out.

Out With The Audi, In With the Porsche

By Ryan Porter

IN-N-OUT Editor

What’s better than getting a new car? You get to learn all the rattles and noises of a new beast, you get to clean up and perfect work that’s not up to your standards, and best of all, you get to add another notch in your belt. I love getting to experience a new car—and what better car to experience than a Porsche 911?

I’ve only had the chance to drive it a call times so far, and the road conditions are horrible in the NorthWest, so unfortunately, I can’t exactly stretch its legs right now. But check out my ride page and mark my new ride as a favorite so you can stay up-to-date with my upcoming mods and photos. First things first, I need some new tires!

The Nissan 370 NISMO – The Graduated Tuner Ride

By Ryan Porter

IN-N-OUT Editor

Unfortunately the term “tuner” now goes hand and hand with most Japanese sport cars, and even though guys like me want to grow out of it, guys like Rob never let us. In the past I’ve owned my fair share of Hondas and had what some consider the tuner dream car, the Subaru STI. All-in-all these cars have all been great, but at the end of the day a “tuner car” is a car that you’re a little nervous to pull up to the valet or to your family reunion. But I have to say that Nissan just got one step closer to taming the trend of bloated fenders here, canards there, and wings this tall.  I may not be shopping one, but I must admit I like the overall package!

Meet the Nissan 370Z NISMO. Admittedly it doesn’t one-up the STI or the EVO in performance, but for looks I will argue that this thing looks the best.

Sun Came Out Yesterday, Time For A Car Wash

By Ryan Porter

IN-N-OUT Editor

The sun decided to come out yesterday afternoon so I raced home to get down on a car wash.  I’d been pretty upset that I hadn’t been able to wash it in nearly three weeks, so it was overdue.  Similar to my last wash, I used my new foam cannon and some other new wash chemicals that I got from the Chemical Guys.  As for my method, I’m piggybacking off what I’ve learned from Blake and the NorthWest Auto Salon guys when they did their 24 step car wash. See the products and more images after the jump!

iForged Turbo LED Conversion Part II

By Ryan Porter

IN-N-OUT Editor

Last week I shared Vincent’s Porsche Turbo getting the 997.2 LED taillight conversion and the number one response was to fix the gap in the bumper.  Look at this car–do you really think he wasn’t all in on this thing? Check out the bodywork that will help finish off the sick taillight conversion.

What Did You Do This Weekend?

By Ryan Porter

IN-N-OUT Editor

The weather was rather mixed this weekend, but Mother Nature decided to give us car lovers a dose of pleasure on Sunday. Rob had an extra skip in his step after getting the Satellite out this weekend. Jen had three of her four cars out in her driveway for some tinkering, and I ran into her twice on two separate days at Home Depot while picking up random tools and supplies. As for me, I got down to a fierce Audi A5 wash early Sunday morning before hitting the NWmoting.com meet.  Cleaned up A5 photo after the jump!

Fremont Day Five

By Ryan Porter

IN-N-OUT Editor

You guys are probably thinking that day five in the CarDomain Fremont headquarters is going to be all crazy and you know what, you’re kinda right. We’ve got tons of cool contests we’re working on, and we’ve got water leaking through the roof–some worker guy with a hose caught major hell for that. In unrelated news I scored a sick parking spot today that’s protected in between two driveways. To top it off, one of the driveways belongs to one of our developers!

Oh yeah, I was tired of the van so I stole my girlfriend’s new ride and drove it in today.
