Redline Kicks Off The 2010 Time Attack Season
By John Naderi
StreetFire.net
After Japan’s famed Tsukuba circuit no track is more widely recognized for time attacks than Buttonwillow Raceway Park, located in bucolic Buttonwillow, a mere hop, skip and a two-hour drive north of LA. Buttonwillow’s 2.6-mile CW #13 configuration seemed the perfect venue for the Redline Time Attack to launch its 2010 series. While Redline does not normally attract some of the big time J-pop rockin’ JDM machines as the rival Super Lap Battle this year’s season opener saw plenty of records fall. Hit the jump to see more images as well as some of the record-breaking times.

NYIAS: Scion tC and iQ Modified by Five Axis
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I wasn’t very impressed by the “new” tC but I have to say that Five Axis did an amazing job with it. Their iQ was pretty cool, too. More pics after the jump, including all the specs!

NYIAS: The New Scion iQ
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
Last year’s concept, the Toyota iQ with a Scion Badge, will be sold as a Scion here in the states this fall. Toyota claimed that the premium subcompact is “Mini-er” and “Smart-er” than the competition. They’re also calling the iQ a four-seater, but think of the rear seat as just a storage area for luggage. The concept version of the iQ on display was hot looking! Expect to see more than a few Scion iQ’s at this year’s SEMA.

NYIAS: Old vs New Scion tC: I Made a Mistake!
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
There was a posting about the new Scion tC, written by your truly, and I was wrong about the previous tC, in which I stated it didn’t have a rear hatch. Surprise, it did. So, to stir the discussion further, lets compare the old tC with the new tC.

NYIAS: the New Scion tC
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
There was some excitement in the Scion booth, as the new tC was introduced. It’s rather hard to remember when the tC was first introduced in the States, and it’s one of the more successful Scion products, so when coming out with a replacement, Toyota was a little conservative, with basically the same styling, an increase in horsepower, larger tires and brakes, and a new six speed automatic along with a six seed stick.

Just saw some cool shots of this Scion xB on wheresneek. It belongs to one of the members at bB Squad. Taking photos is one thing but finding a cool location to shoot them is a whole different ball game. It all depends on where you live I guess.

Best of SEMA: Sport Compact
By John Coyle
Deputy Editor
While I might be using the term sport compact a little loosely here, I thought all these cars were wicked, so I was able justify shoehorning them into this category. Sue me. Anyway, I’m a sucker for an old-school VW, so I loved Paul Newman’s 351-powered Beetle, and I was really impressed with Rhys Millen Racing’s mid-engine Genesis Coupe, the Fiesta—stock, but awesome—in the Ford booth, the ferocious Fiat 500 and the Scion xB that won the Tuner Challenge.
