CarDomain’s Showoff Of The Week on Her Way To SEMA

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

Kerryann has done an amazing job on her R32 GT-R–not only is this ride unbelievably rare, but it’s a fully legitimate little track brawler as well. She’ll be running it in Redline Time Attack for the 2011 season, but before that there’s one little stop to make–at the SEMA show! The R32 will be displayed there as one of the Seibon feature cars, and Kerryann will be there too, representing at the Enkei booth. Congratulations Kerryann, we’ll see you in Vegas!

The Red Baron

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

I’m not sure what’s in the water in that other hemisphere. But it seems that the New Zealanders and Australians are responsible for some of the fastest Skylines in the world. This R32 belongs to Glen Suckling from New Zealand. It is capable of an 8.02 second runs thanks to its 2.7 litre 1300bhp engine. Judging by this picture, it really jumps off the line but I wouldn’t expect any less with 1300BHP on tap. You can’t just turn up at a drag strip and think you can pull off an 8 second run. It is always a combination of things that allows you to break records. It all starts with a chassis that has been stripped of all its unnecessary metal, while panels like the hood and trunk are replaced with lighter-material items. SunLine Racing Skyline 370 GT

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

Following the fourth round of D1 a few weeks ago, I took some time to drop by and say hello to Sato-san at SunLine Racing in Okayama city. I always make a point to stop by if I’m in the area because Sato-san is one guy I always love to chat to. We share a lot of common opinions and tastes when it comes to cars and seem to always be on the same page on most things. As soon as I pulled up at the SLR shop I noticed something very interesting parked up front and judging from the body color I instantly assumed it was their latest demo car. Turns out this deep red V36 Skyline 370GT is a customer car that was in to get some much needed ECU tuning. Read more at Speedhunters.

Rocky Auto RB25 Hakosuka

Car Culture At Large

I was like a kid in a candy store the other day at Rocky Auto. The selection of cars at the main shop is nothing short of mind-boggling, each one so different from the next yet so impossibly original. Watanabe-san always has so many ideas in his head for future projects, and I really can’t believe he manages to come up with such unique cars each time he puts his thinking hat on. Take this PGC10 2-door Skyline 2000-GT hard top for example.

It is one of many demonstration cars that are kept at the shop and used on a daily basis by the man himself. Like most of the cars that come out of Rocky Auto this Skyline has been given a new breath of life, with a series of modifications that transform it into a very modern feeling car. Power is courtesy of an RB25DE, which is smooth and powerful, allowing the classic Skyline to retain its original straight-six feel. Continue reading at Speedhunters

Rocky Auto C110 Skyline

Car Culture At Large

Car restorers sit in two very distinct camps when going about their business. There are those that meticulously try to stick to an authentic, close to factory look and feel while others don’t see the problem with injecting a certain modern flair into their vehicles. Rocky Auto most definitely belongs to the latter! Their cars have, over the years, become nothing short of legendary and I thought it was about time that we took a look at some of them. A Slammed 32

Car Culture At Large

As I took a look at the small, but satisfying Fatlace One of One Car Show at Formula D New Jersey, I was on the lookout for cool cars to spotlight – fitting with the monthly theme and all. I found a few interesting cars, and the first was this dramatically low R32 Skyline. Aside from the fact that any R32 is a rarity on our side of the border, this car jumped out at me with a perfect rough and ready street car vibe. Continue reading at Speedhunters

Today’s photo comes from my kid sister, who’s traveling right now, and who sent me this cool snap of a sweet vintage Skyline she found parked on the street in Hong Kong. Of course, there’s no ride page to link to, so I’ve included another view of the car below the jump.

Malaysian Super GT Style Skyline R34

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

I saw this car for the first time at last year’s Formula Drift Malaysia. For some reason it stood out from the line of black mod cars on display, and finally I managed to get the opportunity to see, smell and touch it up close. Belonging to the son of a traditional Chinese medical specialist in Malaysia, this JGTC-inspired matt black 2000 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T is a one-of-a-kind custom build and not any kit that you can just buy off a shelf.
