DR30 Skyline RS-Turbo

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

I have had a thing for the R30 for a while now. The more I see these angular eighties Skylines the more I like them and this particular example sporting massive overfenders has to be one of the coolest I have come across. I have no idea who it belongs to but from the license plate it’s from southern Japan. Absolutely stunning!

By Michael Berenis

Tampa Sports Car Examiner

A R33 Skyline worthy of legendary status that cranks out 1100 horsepower just ran a 9.86 second quarter mile time! Special thanks to all-wheel drive and deep wallet tuning, this Skyline is a crowd favorite at every event. If it’s got a parachute on the bumper, you know it’s fast! Abandoned Skylines

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

This is so bizarre. Last Friday, after I shot a few drift cars at Nikko circuit, I was on my way to the actual historical town of Nikko, to relax for a bit before heading up to Ebisu for the Drift Matsuri. As I set the Audi S4 I was driving on cruise control, l sat back and enjoyed some tunes from the crisp Bang & Olufsen audio system. After cruising for twenty minutes or so I suddenly had to hit the brakes and pull a U-turn. I couldn’t believe my eyes, I had just driven by an abandoned gas station with three neglected vintage Skylines lined up next to each other. I parked up and got the camera out. Cressidas and Levins and Sprinters and Skylines, oh my! I was just clearing out some images on my Mac and transferring them to one of my terabyte drives when I stumbled upon these images I shot at the Japanese Classic Car Show last month. Before I transfer them to the HD archive and forget all about them for another year or so, I thought I’d just share some more pics of these awesome Japanese nostalgic cars! Rainy Autobahn Skyline Race

By Michael Berenis

Tampa Sports Car Examiner

A meeting of twin JDM legends on the Autobahn leads to a race toward an overcast horizon in the rain. Traversing the slick conditions at over 200 miles per hour, the twin Skylines show their true colors in purest form. Read more about the rainy Autobahn Skyline race at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.

20 Years Strong

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

Sometimes it’s really hard to believe that the high tech R32 Skyline GT-R is now over 20 years old. The R32 is just one of several iconic Japanese cars that recently have crossed the 20-year mark. Others include the S13 Silvia and the NA chassis Mazda Roadster. Surely these cars will be the “nostalgics” of generations to come. The car in the photo is the Auto Gallery Yokohama R32, seen at Tsukuba Circuit last year.

The Ultimate Street KPGC10

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

It isn’t every day you come across a car like this, that’s for sure. It all happened during a driving expedition my friends and I organized last fall, something we have been doing for years now. The idea is to all meet up at the Hakone Turnpike, one of Japan’s most well known driving roads, and drive up into the mountains and down into the Izu peninsula through the appropriately named “Izu Skyline” pass. Which is precisely where I first saw this impossibly spotless Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R. Continue reading at Speedhunters

Instant Party R32 Skyline

By Antonio Alvendia

Antonio Alvendia

Thinking back on this summer’s epic All Star Bash weekend, I’ve begun to come to the conclusion that it just might have been the best American grassroots drifting event that I’ve ever been to in my whole life. Now THAT is a pretty strong statement – especially when you’ve been to as many grassroots drifting events in different states as I have. Of course, one of the things that naturally attracts me to the All Star Bash is the presence of some pretty awesome cars, most of which are S13s and S14s.

However, there was a certain non S-chassis that caught my attention – it was a white R32 Nissan Skyline with license plates from Washington state. It wasn’t until the end of the last day of All Star Bash that I met the owner of this car – Jon Jaffe from Washington’s own Team Instant Party. When we spoke at Willow Springs, it was hot, so I just gave him props on his car and a couple stickers, and went on my way.

Fast forward about a month – on my way back from the Formula D Seattle trip, BN Sports Raymond and I found ourselves chillin out in Bothell, Washington with Instant Party driver Roland Gallagher and his dad. On the day I was supposed to return to Los Angeles, I asked Raymond if we could stop by Roland’s house on the way to the airport so I could check out his car really quick and say what’s up. Shortly after we arrived at Roland’s house, Jon took a break from his workday to come over and say hello. Perfect timing. I wanted to get a closer look at his Skyline anyway! Skyline Heritage

Just found this cool shot of an R32, R33, R34 and last but not least an R35. My choice would be the R33 because I know that particular car. Which one would you choose?
