Hot Or Not? DeLorean Solstice
By Jen Dunnaway
Editor
This could very well be just another one from the wild-ass rumor mill, but Jalopnik claims that the recently-reconstituted DeLorean Motor Company is seriously considering giving the Solstice a second lease on life. Under the scheme, DMC would supplement its limited output of refurbished DeLoreans with a run of DeLorean-badged Solstices (hey: they could call it the DeL Sol, get it?), and to this end, they’ve acquired a GXP for teardown and are eyeing GM’s defunct plant in Wilmington as their possible future assembly line. We’ll see, but if they do it, it’s going to need some gullwings. Via Jalopnik.

J.G. Pasterjak Reviews the 2009 Pontiac Solstice
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
I finally got to meet J.G. Pasterjak from the Grassroots Motorsports crew at the Nissan 370Z drive two weeks ago. In addition to handling the production and art direction for the magazines, J.G. shoots a lot of video for GRM. Here’s his recent review of the 2009 Pontiac Solstice, which includes some of his thoughts on Pontiac and GM. I thought it was pretty hilarious. Check it out.

Bullrun: Sorry Solstice, It's Time to Go
By Mike Musto
RideLust.com
As we all know, Team Evo hit the road a few episodes back, and now it looks like Team Avalanche has taken their place as the new rally bad boys. An off-camera skirmish between Avalanche and Team Corvette has popped up and for some reason Matt seems to be taking it pretty hard as he’s the one screaming and yelling the most. Honestly, they should just scrap what happens on camera and just show the behind the scenes stuff–it’s always more exciting. Continue reading…

The Nissan 370Z Stomps the Pontiac Solstice GXP Coupe on CarDomain
By Rob Einaudi
Editor-in-Chief
The 370z beat the Solstice GXP Coupe by almost a 3-to-1 margin in this week’s Showroom Showdown. Ouch. And as usual, I got some flack from some several folks here on the match-up. Hey, it’s not easy coming up with a new showdown each week. The vehicles should have the same number of doors and seats and be priced about the same. Think you can do better? Leave a comment!

Bullrun Episode 4: Team Evo Gone… Dart Dead?
By Mike Musto
RideLust.com
Wow, season II’s fourth episode really kicked it up a notch. We had yelling and screaming (VW guys at Evo), new rivalries (Avalanche vs. Solstice), cars being totaled (Evo & Dart), loads of obligatory explosions, and of course, Steve from Team Corvette. Not sure if everyone caught the “Behind the Scenes” moment where Steve made fun of Team Ferrari and if you didn’t it’s too bad ’cause this dude had me crackalackin’! Bravo Steve! We also saw a little sporting rivalry between Goldberg and Bear from Team Avalanche in regards to a Georgia shirt that Bill made him wear and that Bear eventually turned into an oil rag and tire cleaner.

Bullrun Season II officially kicks off tonight on SPEED at 10 PM EST. Some people were asking if we were going to do a contest again this year, where members who correctly guess who gets eliminated have a chance to win swag. Well, it sounds like a bunch of you already got a sneak peek at the first episode, so we’re gonna hold off on that contest til next week. But Mr. Angry is gonna try to blog his reaction to each episode on Fridays, so stay definitely tuned for that!
Also, with the help of Andy Duncan and the folks at SPEED, we put together ride pages for all the cars in the show. Well, it turns out that Tony and Teresa already had a ride page on CarDomain for their awesome Solstice, so be sure to check that out as well!

Three GM Rolling Chassis Available at Barrett-Jackson
By Jim Brennan
UDMan
Here is something that is a bit different than your standard collectible vehicle. A rolling, functioning, bare chassis. I can understand why GM is getting rid of their SEMA vehicles, and many of their Pace Cars, but why on earth are they letting go of rolling chassis?
These are quite useful for museums, tech schools, and other displays. They would even be great at the Heritage Center once GM reorganizes, and gets back into making significant cars. See if you agree with me about each of these rolling pieces of art. Should GM Keep them, or are they just trying to raise a lot of cash? Either way, this is your chance to actually build a real dream car, if you have the means that is. Continue reading…
