Spyker's New Aileron: Bold, Beauitful and Dead Sexy

By Mike Musto

For those of you out there who have never heard of Spyker then please let this be your introduction. Spyker is a small auto manufacturer from Holland whose sole intent is to produce some of the most beautiful, best performing and unique automobiles on the planet. A few weeks ago I got a call from Vinny Russo, Spyker’s Dealer Relations Manager asking me if I wanted to participate in a track test of Spyker’s new Aileron up at Monticello Raceway in Monticello, New York. I instantly jumped at the chance.

Spyker Cars, the boutique car company from Holland, produces some of the coolest vehicles on the road today. From the first look at a Spyker you realize that you are in the presence of something special. These are not cars that are made for the masses, but automobiles that are constructed for the connoisseur. Continue reading after the jump.

Spyker the Unknown Euro at Chicago

By Matt Wellumson

Neuwerks

Not many people think of the Netherlands when they hear the phrase exotic car, however, that small corner of Europe does have one exceptional vehicle whose US identity can be as shrouded as the vehicle pictured below. I have never seen one of these cars in person. My only experiences has been from web pictures, and in simulation mode on Grand Turismo on my PS2. Thankfully they have brought a couple examples of this car to the show, and I aim to spend some time looking them over. For those unaware, this car was the first widely available (in Europe) production car to feature a Mid Engined Audi 4.2L V8 engine, predating Audi’s own R8.

Team Spyker: Popped and Out of the Car Before Checkpoint One!

By John Coyle

Editor

The Bullrun cars left Calgary under police escort—the good kind— at about 9:30, but once we got outside the city, the heat wasn’t quite so friendly. We were about three-quarters of the way to the first checkpoint when we saw both of the Spykers pulled over and surrounded by cops. The drivers and the passengers were out of the cars, which is never a good sign—hopefully they aren’t stuck in some Canadian polar bear gulag. When Angela pulled the Team Jeep SRT-8 over so I could get a shot of the scene, it gave me chance to  ask one of the officers what he thinks of the Bullrun. His opinion? "It’s great for business." Well said officer!

Spyker at the New York Auto Show

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

I dropped by and talked to Rona Cortez over at Spyker on my way in this morning. They have two cars here–the white C8 Spyder and the orange C8 Laviolette. Spker has built 215 cars since their launch in 2000. Currently, there are 67 Spyders and 9 Laviolette in the States. I love the way these cars look, and the 400 hp Audi V8 makes ‘em quick as hell. Spyder will be heavily involved with the Bullrun rally this year, so you’ll be seeing a lot more of Spyker on CarDomain. I have ten more pics of these beauties after the jump.

White-Hot Spyker C8 Aileron Debutes at Geneva

By John

Editor

Spyker’s new C8 Aileron sports a 400 horsepower V8 and brakes big enough to stop a freight train, but it’s the stunning sheet metal and insane interior which really set this 400,000 dollar exotic apart. Seriously, just look at the cockpit! From the pics, I can’t figure out exactly how that shifter assembly works, but if I ever get to climb behind the wheel of one of these babies, I’d certainly enjoy finding out. More info over at World Car Fans.
