By Jim Brennan

Normally, I’m not a huge fan of slammed cars or trucks, but this Suburban is different. I found this creation over at the Goin’ Hard Wheel booth along with another cool ride I’ll talk about soon. See more…

Very Collectible Trucks Offered at Barrett-Jackson, from GM Heritage Collection

By Jim Brennan

UDMan

This year’s Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction can be summed up in this way: GM Heritage Collection Customized Show Vehicles, GM Heritage Collection Production Milestone Vehicles, GM Heritage Collection Engineering Studies, GM Heritage Collection Historic Vehicles, GM Heritage Collection Racing and Support Vehicles, a Ford 4-AT-E Tri-Motor Airplane (yes, they are auctioning off a significant historical Airplane!), and the remaining cars left to be auctioned. Soldier Heads Out on Different Kind of Tour

By John Coyle

Last Friday, while crossing a street in Hartford, Connecticut 78-year-old Angel Arce Torres was struck by a car. The driver who hit him fled the scene, but the most shocking thing about this incident was the total lack of response from the numerous witnesses. While the elderly man laid helpless in the middle of the street, no one came to his aid, and no motorists stopped. The people who did eventually venture  toward him seemed to regard the injured man as some kind of curiosity, and Torres remained where the car threw him until a passing police cruiser stopped to help. This is the kind of thing you imagine happening in a war zone, not the Capital City of an American state. What the hell is wrong with those people?  More info—including interviews with some of the assholes who stood by and did nothing—over at the Hartford Courant.

Cummins-Powered Stretch Suburban on eBay

By Jen Dunnaway

You wouldn’t expect that this Mopar-powered, XXL-sized Suburban would help you out much at the pump, but the seller swears it’ll get 18 mpg at 75 mph with a trailer in tow—it is a diesel, after all. All things considered, that’s pretty impressive, but I’m still not sure I’d want to be responsible for its care and feeding. Any takers?
