E85 Performance: Toyota Supra with 800 WHP

By Michael Berenis

Tampa Sports Car Examiner

Who says E85 has to be slow? E85 ethanol gasoline blend is actually better for forced induction performance because it lowers the risk of detonation. Alternative fuel does not indicate the end of the performance world! Read more about the Titan Motorsports 800 whp Toyota Supra running E85 at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.

Boost Logic's 243 mph Toyota Supra

By Michael Berenis

Tampa Sports Car Examiner

An amazing performance piece by Boost Logic, the 243 mph Toyota Supra is sending out a strong JDM message to the world. Move over Veyron, there is a new contender in town. The mid 1990′s built Supra can withstand the top speeds of the multi-million dollar exotic. Only a few miles per hour slower, this Supra is not done and is expected to break the Veyron’s top speed in spring of 2010. Can it do it? I think so. Who cares about leather and chrome trim at 240+ mph anyways! Bye bye Bugatti, eat the Supra’s dust. Learn more about the 243 mph Supra at Tampa Sports Car Examiner.

YSR NA Supra

Car Culture At Large

There is one thing about Japan that you’ve just got to love. No matter how many tuning shops and modified cars there are out there, finding something very special and most importantly of all, different, is not as hard as some may think. It all comes down to a need to be unique and stand out from the crowd, something that becomes very evident if you spend a little time in Japan. This need to be different is precisely what drove the owner of the exceptionally clean JZX80 you see here to go out and create something very special, a car that would satisfy his personal tastes and objectives without following any preset guidelines. From the outside it might just look like your regular twin-turbo powered JZA80 Supra, spiced up with some nice touches like these TRD Sports T3 5-spoke wheels. But one turn of the ignition key is all that’s needed to reveal that there is something a little strange going on under the hood. Continue reading at Speedhunters

Two Supra-Hearted Bimmers From Jersey

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

The other day we got an email from our buddy Ernie Manasala at NOS Energy Drink. Seeing how it’s BMW month, Ernie wanted to share a couple photos of some BMW’s built by his older brother Mike at E-Shift Performance in New Jersey. As you’ll note from the opening shot, these aren’t quite your typical “Euro” Bimmers. Continue reading at Speedhunters

Revolfe Supra

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

Subtlety is something I’m a great fan of. I have always been in the “less is more” school of thought and appreciate any car that follows simple guidelines. Substance is far more important I always say, and the car I have for you here is an example that fits both bills perfectly. Mizota-san of Revolfe has over the years created some of the most powerful machines to hit the wangan and with our theme for this month being Speed, this is one car that deserved to be shown. BN Sports Kitted Supra

By Rob Einaudi

Editor-in-Chief

Andy at Powervehicles often picks up some pretty crazy looking cars at auctions, or via tuning shops he deals with. This JZA80 Supra is no exception, especially the wild BN Sports Blister kit it has been fitted with. The in your face drift look seems to suit the big Supra quite well, just take a look at how the front and rear fenders have been blistered out. A rear brake cooling ducts have been worked into the rear fenders, but whether these are functional or not is not quite clear. Continue reading at Speedhunters

Cool Build: Fredric Aasbo's New Drift Supra

By Speedhunters

Car Culture At Large

If you’ve been following the global drifting scene, then you should be familiar with Norwegian drifting star Fredric Aasbo, who appeared at last year’s Red Bull World Drift Championship in his JZA80 Toyota Supra. Fredric and the Japan Auto team actually liked the American drifting experience so much that they decided to leave the Supra in SoCal for future use, and that meant they needed to put a new car together for use back home in Northern Europe. Check out the build at Speedhunters!

Illtech Auto Salon: Pushing the Nissan GT-R Envelope

By Weston Henderson

Weston Henderson

I had the chance to head down to my old stomping grounds yesterday to meet with some of the innovators in the GT-R world, but this story starts a little before yesterday.

A few months back, Ryan and I went to a big GTG up here in Seattle put on as a collaboration between several forums. It was a booming success with several hundred cars. You can read the whole story here if you like, but what took the cake for us were the twin GT-R’s that rolled in sporting Illtech Auto Salon decals and lookin fresh as hell. For the life of me, I couldn’t remember who Illtech was, but knew that I had heard the name before–it turns out that these guys are leading the industry in GT-R tuning. With 3 GT-R’s in their stable and a boatload of connections, these fellas are pushing the envelope in tuning the GT-R and other supercars to boot. Read on…
