American Strength and Ingenuity in Toronto
By Steve Neill

Well, whoever says that Americans aren’t making awesome cars anymore was an absolute lunatic. All the cars represented at the Toronto Autoshow were great to see, and when America puts its foot down in hard times, it definitely does not disappoint. What we had displayed at the show from Ford, GM and Chrysler was nothing short of impressive, not to mention the fact that plenty of American classics were also on display. When it was all said and done, Toronto really came through in showing that even in the hardest times, America can do very very well. More pics after the jump!

Asian Invasion

Well after what appeared to be an ENDLESS supply of economy cars, and a heavy gulp load of BS from auto manufacturers about how these new super-green concepts would be on the road by 2392, I began to properly explore the Toronto Autoshow. As a Japanese car guy, it wasn’t hard to see every car that stirred my soul. They had everything from the Nissan GT-R, to the Nissan Cube, and Mitsubishi Evolution, new Fairlady Z, old Fairlady Z, Subaru STI’s, and everything else a Japanese car lover would want. For the tuner crowd, these were the heavy hitters. Just because Canada has snow, doesn’t mean we don’t know how to rock it JDM!

Arrival at the Toronto Autoshow!

After we arrived through the rain and sleet and Jaguar badged Kias, we immediately set out on the daunting task of taking pictures of uninteresting green cars. It was horrible nice to stand at the manufacturer booths and listen to the executives drone on and on introduce the new economic models!
It was immediately apparent that green was the new trend this year, so we took lots of pics, and for your time wasting pleasure, here they are!

On the Way to the Autoshow

Turns out Toronto does live up to its Canadian heritage! Sure enough, the drive was filled with sleet and snow, and getting there was quite shocking! Toronto is filled with lots of interesting things, and if you’re a car guy/girl, they’re easy to spot. We saw this weird Kia Magentis wearing (can you guess?) Jaguar badging. The woman had removed every single Kia logo, except for the one in the grille, and slapped on a Jaguar logo everywhere. Worst part was the gold leaping Jaguar, which made my heart ache. Who does this to a Kia?
See the Kia and continue reading after the jump!
