600K Rides Contest: Thursday's Winners

By Jen Dunnaway

Editor

Our staff had called Friday as the day we’d most likely hit 600,000 rides on CarDomain. But our awesome members beat us to the punch, and as a result we reached our latest landmark in the middle of today instead! Still, as promised, we’re going to be giving away a swag pack each day for the best new ride page and best updated ride page as though the countdown were still happening, because we sure wouldn’t want you to miss out on your swag. Congrats to Dawn on her newly updated Prelude, "Lucy Lude": having had her car stolen and stripped, Dawn’s had to show more than the usual persistence to keep it looking as nice as it does, and I think the slogan she runs on her multiple ride pages says it all: "If you don’t run your fingers over my car, I won’t run my car over your fingers." Nice, I think that’s going to have to be my new bumper sticker! As with updated rides, there were so many fantastic new rides that it was almost impossible to choose one—but I think it’s going to have to go to new member Dan for his absolutely badass Dodge Ram van. With its plaid captain’s chairs and floor-to-ceiling carpeting, how could you not want to welcome this ride and its owner into our community?

Insane JDM Finds at Terra 2 Imports

By Jen

Editor

If you’re JDM-crazy and you live in Canada, you need to check out the inventory at Terra 2 Imports, a British Columbia-based company that plucks choice J-spec rides right off the dealer lots in Japan. The prices aren’t even that unreasonable, and include the overseas shipping as well as all applicable fees and taxes. Only vehicles over 25 years of age, like this ’71 Nissan Skyline, are eligible for import into the US; emigrate to Canada, and you can enjoy both quality health care and 1992-and-older Japanese rides! Check out this tiny Mitsubishi cement mixer, perfect for churning up a few tablespoons of cupcake batter. Or the bizarrely tricked-out Mazda Scrum microvan, below.

Wicked Carnage: Death of a Mini-Van!

By John

Community Editor

I’ve posted blogs about being cars being crashed, crushed and shredded—but this is some of the most vicious car carnage I’ve ever seen! In a matter of moments, this poor mini-van is transformed from a humble grocery getter into mess of upholstery fluff and twisted metal. Wow. Does anyone know what kind of equipment they’re using? I’d guess it’s some kind of burly logging equipment, but I can’t say for sure.

Monster Minivan

By Rob

Editor-in-Chief

Not sure why this is listed as a 1970, but this Dodge minivan on eBay is pretty tough. Obviously, the guy who built this thing likes to weld.
