After the 2008 Bullrun was complete and the reality show had been shot, rally co-founder David Green raced in the Seat Cupra Championship over in the UK. But during a race at Brands Hatch, he had a pretty nasty wreck, where he chipped his teeth and got knocked unconscious. Yikes. This clip does a great job of showing just how violent it was—check out how much his body moves during the multiple impacts. Glad to hear you’re OK David! Hopefully I’ll see you on the rally this year!

There are so many awesome things about this video. First, there’s the obviously doomed nature of the whole endeavor. There’s also the happy spool of cable crashing through the glass without so much as a wobble, the stunned workman who’s apparently knocked down by the sound, the seemingly unflappable dude on the cell phone—who has no visible reaction to being nearly killed by a runaway spool of cable—and finally, there’s the forlorn sound of the car alarm in the parking lot, which lets us know that this unfortunate incident has reached its conclusion. Enjoy.

It looks like most of the public is behind the bailing out the Big Three, but GM isn’t taking any chances. The General has just released this clip, which lays out its case for the $25 billion dollar cash infusion, and it makes things look pretty dire. Now, given the make-up of the Hill, I don’t see any help for Detroit passing this year, but I think that America’s automakers will eventually get some cash from Uncle Sam. Of course, I sincerely hope that there will be some conditions attached to the money—that means no million dollar executive bonuses, Ma Mopar—so it doesn’t become a total SNAFU like the bank bailout. But that’s just me. Think this clip is scary enough?

Ok, this is what happened. After the throttle cable on his Renault broke during the Ralley de Serrians in France, the driver climbs under the hood and controls the throttle manually until his copilot manages to cross the finish line. Seriously. This badass rides until the hood for the last mile. The best part? The official’s face when the car completes the stage. Who says the French are wimps?

One of my college roommates went to school in South Carolina, and he used to talk about how his buddies would go out wheeling roll their CJs down hills on purpose. I thought that sounded crazy, but he assured me they always had a good time and cuts and bruises were the extent of the injuries. So when I saw the title of the video Tyler posted, I thought this might be a clip documenting recreation rolling. It’s not, but it’s still pretty cool. I like how you can hear one of the driver’s friends yelling "hang on" as he starts to go over. Enjoy.

So this isn’t the coolest video I’ve ever seen, but I’m intrigued by the whole XJS/400 swap, and I’m hoping joecat will build a ride page, or at least post a clip of the engine bay. In the meantime, I think those racing stripes look awesome! After I get my XJ6 done—which will probably never happen, but still—I’ve harbored some fantasies about getting an XJS and doing a 350 swap on it. My Kitty is pretty quick, but I’ve wondered what it would feel like to have the same drivetrain in a sportier body style. Something tells me it’d be a blast…
