Weston Henderson
Take a look at the first winner in the “Castrol GTX How Do You Keep Your Car So Clean?” contest! I’ve always been a big fan of the G35 but this one steps it up black on black on black! So clean and that stance is ridiculous.
If you haven’t already entered the contest, DO IT! Its totally free and you could win up to $1,000 just for entering. Head on over to the contest here.

Formula D: Hittin' the Streets of Long Beach!
Weston Henderson
Next weekend, Ryan is heading down to Long Beach to check out the Formula D event for CarDomain. Based on the sweet video below, I can only bet that Ryan is going to have a great time. You can look forward to a ton of coverage soon–check it out!

K&N Typhoon Intake Install
Weston Henderson
Last week K&N shipped me a full Typhoon intake setup. I installed it on my car and have been testing it over the last week. The install was pretty easy and required removing the engine cover (which cannot be re attached without modification) and the stock intake piping. After removing the intake piping you simply install the K&N heat shield and intake piping. I have to admit, I now seem to have a few extra bolts, but nothing has shaken loose over the last week so I figure we’re gonna be just fine. I will say that I miss the way my engine looked, with the clean looking cover on it–but performance always comes first!

Snuggie While Driving: I'm All Over It!
Weston Henderson
I was cruising through VW Vortex and found an awesome post that I just had to share with you guys: another revolutionary use for the ever-popular Snuggie, and this one lets you combine your two favorite things–laziness, and cars!
I don’t know about you, but I personally can’t stand the chill of getting out of bed in the morning. But now, I can take my bedding with me. This is totally going to be the Next Big Thing: Snuggie-while-driving will sweep the nation, like UGG boots, or like when Kris Kross wore their pants backwards for the first time. Autoblog and their buddies at MotherProof are clearly out of touch with today’s enthusiast culture on this one. Let me say it again: YOU NEVER HAVE TO LEAVE YOUR BLANKET. Like, when you’re sitting on the couch and you need to drive to the store for some more Cheetos or mayonaise? It no longer has to be a chore, and you can look ultra-cool doing it. I already ordered two so I can be Snuggie on both sides!

Wagenwerks: Nice Videos!
Weston Henderson
So these guys obviously have some serious production value. And a LOT of time on their hands. Pretty sure we need to have these guys hook up the CarDomain staff and make some similar videos for our beater cars! Check out my other favorite Wagenwerks video below the jump, and check out more of their stuff here.

What Did You Do This Weekend?
Weston Henderson
My week was jam-packed with car stuff. Lets see, where do I begin? Saturday morning Ryan and I washed our cars and met up at Griot’s Garage Company in Fife, Washington for a tour of their facility. Just so happened that we rolled in during the “Italian Cars” group tour and spotted this ultra-hot Alfa Romeo. More…

Another Ferrari Bites The Dust
Weston Henderson
Here’s yet another reason not to let your car get valeted: it would appear that from the story here that this brand-new Ferrari 575 was up for sale on CarZone and the valet decided to show off to impress some girls. Heh, must’ve hit the V-Tech or something!
Gory photos below. Another Ferrari kill!

Illtech Auto Salon: Pushing the Nissan GT-R Envelope
Weston Henderson
I had the chance to head down to my old stomping grounds yesterday to meet with some of the innovators in the GT-R world, but this story starts a little before yesterday.
A few months back, Ryan and I went to a big GTG up here in Seattle put on as a collaboration between several forums. It was a booming success with several hundred cars. You can read the whole story here if you like, but what took the cake for us were the twin GT-R’s that rolled in sporting Illtech Auto Salon decals and lookin fresh as hell. For the life of me, I couldn’t remember who Illtech was, but knew that I had heard the name before–it turns out that these guys are leading the industry in GT-R tuning. With 3 GT-R’s in their stable and a boatload of connections, these fellas are pushing the envelope in tuning the GT-R and other supercars to boot. Read on…

K&N Typhoon Intake!
Weston Henderson
Our buddies over at K&N sent us some sweet product to check out! I received the K&N Typhoon full intake system for my GTI and Jen got a drop-in filter for her Concord. Inside the box I noticed that K&N offers a horsepower guarantee on their applications and even states that if you don’t get an increase in horsepower they will refund the purchase price. My application is shown to provide up to 18.5 additional HP!
Here are some pics of the un-boxing and I will definitely follow up with a DIY and any notes on increased performance. Thanks K&N!

What Did You Do This Weekend?
Weston Henderson
I know, I know–you guys have been subjected to my car over and over again. But I got some serious work done over the weekend and I’m gettin’ ready for the season! A buddy of mine runs a body shop so we re-sprayed the GTI’s front and rear valences and reinstalled them on Saturday. Sunday I polished and waxed my car in the garage. Looks great, but its supposed to snow today in Seattle… friggin’ awesome!
What did YOU do this weekend?
