OK, so a forklift isn’t exactly a car, but this was too funny not to post. Remember: if you’re going to take a forklift into the spin cycle, you best hang on tight!

At the beginning of this video, two cars are lined up and getting ready to drop the hammer on the freeway. Pretty standard, right? Well, just before the action starts, and out-of-control car slides into the shot and ruins everything. Yikes!

Everything looks solid as this pair of ‘Vettes square off, but after they get moving, the guy on the left loses it and winds up nearly taking out his competition. This whole thing could have been so much worse…

Wow, if only somebody had seen this coming. Notorious celebrity-spawn/felonious lead foot Nick Hogan has wrecked another car. Unlike last time, nobody was rendered a vegetable, but the fact that he was coming directly from a Los Angeles charity event called Keep It On The Track makes me think the eight months he spent in the slammer for his previous Supra-destroying/best-friend incapacitating incident didn’t make much of an impact. Personally, I don’t care if it was just a fender-bender, because to paraphrase Maverick’s cigar-chomping CO in Top Gun, he’s got to be driving better, and cleaner than the other guy. But the really mind-numbingly stupid element to this story? The organizers of Keep it on the Track have his dumb-ass mug plastered all over the front page of their website. The BangShift.com members come up with some cool stuff, and this time we got tipped by a forum post from user jword2001. He posted the video seen below that shows Top Fuel Motorcycle rider Korry Hogan laying over his drag bike at 220 mph on a 5.88-second pass, and then saving it! This was at the AMA Dragbike Finals in Valdosta, Georgia, in 2009.

However, a little web surfing reveals that Korry Hogan is no stranger to death-defying antics on two wheels with nitro. The guy has stones like bowling balls. These are all must-see videos.

From the looks of this clip from the Lamborghini Super Trofeo race in Germany, it looks like there were a lot of wrecks, but that just could be the editing. Given the amount of carnage, I was surprised to see there weren’t any flames. Hell, I half-expected pit lane to look like a beach full of bonfires. Kidding. Anyway, while there was definitely some chaos on the course, Team Lamborghini Munchen managed another first place win, which makes three this season. Keep up the good work gentlemen, and keep uploading these great videos to StreetFire!

I’ve never been shy about admitting that I love watching crash comps. But most of the time, the screaming engines, buckling metal and general noise of the wrecks is buried under some of the crappiest music imaginable. Really, you don’t need tinny European techno beats or ridiculous American rap metal to add drama to a rally crash. When the focus of a shot is a high-performance car spinning like an alternator pulley while shedding sheet metal, any additional elements are going to make it less compelling. And that’s why Crazy Finns Crashing is so killer. There’s no extraneous editing, no insipid soundtrack, no trippy title cards. All you hear is what the camera heard, and it’s perfect. Prepare for an exciting ten minutes….

The story about how a low-flying pelican caused some jackass to crash his Bugatti Veyron into a Texas lake sounded like bullshit, and it turns out it is. Jalopnik has found a Facebook video of the actual event, and to quote from them, “there’s not a freaking pelican in sight.” I love how the guys filming think it’s a Lambo. Enjoy.

According to the Galveston Daily News, the driver was distracted by a low-flying pelican, dropped his cell phone, and drove into the lake. What a jackass. Apparently, the quad-turbo W16 ran for 15 minutes before it died, which seems like long enough to make sure every vital engine component got trashed, and begs the question as to why the owner didn’t kill it on his way out of the cabin.
