What The Hell Is This?

Stephanie sent me this pic. I don’t know how old it is or anything else about it, though my buddies on Moparts are fairly sure that the photo was taken in Sweden, and that it’s probably a heavily modified Volvo Amazon with a Volvo 850 nose. Sound about right? And yes, it appears to be towing that trailer! Cool Mopar in the background, too…

Chevy Nightmare

Someone posted this over on Moparts with no explanation, and I have no idea where it came from. I couldn’t really get my head around it until I saw the second pic, which I’ve posted after the jump. Actually, I still can’t get my head around it.

The Midnight Rider: Tackier Than Previously Thought Possible
By John Coyle

Personally, I think limos are kind of stupid. If I was going to roll up anywhere in a hired ride, I’d choose something simple and classy, like a Lincoln Town Car. So I was pretty repelled by the Midnight Rider, which is a semi truck that tows a 70′ long trailer outfitted in "1870′s Presidential Pullman Car decor," and has space for 40 people. Think the interior is overwrought? Then you should check out some of the copy on the website. There are plenty of gems there, but this line had me totally crying:
"It is one thing to build a bus, car, truck or rail car, but it is quite another to take the best of all these and create the most talked aboutand most photographed vehicle in the world."
Now I don’t know about you, but I wouldn’t let anyone who thinks this monstrosity is that important drive me anywhere. More pics over at The Midnight Rider.

Up Up And Away!

Check out this amazing balloon stunt that some kids filmed. So did their ride really float away into the wild blue yonder? It’s kind of a let-down when you watch the making-of video. Make sure you check out the main one first.
